Plant Protection - Fate & Exposition

EU and national laws require that the application of plant protection products (PPPs) may not put the health of humans and animals at risk nor disturb the natural balance. For this reason, a multitude of laboratory and field experiments on the environmental behaviour and environmental impact of PPPs must be carried out before they gain regulatory approval.

We investigate the degradation, transport, distribution and reactions of PPPs in all environmental compartments using established and self-designed field and lab test systems on a variety of scales.

Our test systems are supplemented by the latest analysis techniques and the use of 14C-marked substances in tracer technology. We are a GLP-certified test institute with over 20 years' experience in the analysis and assessment of the exposure of PPPs.
Thanks to our collaboration with business and research partners, we help ensure that only agents that meet statutory environmental quality goals are used in agriculture.
